Barrow Book Store is a used bookshop just off the main street in the center of Concord. From the sign directing you towards the shop, to the entranceway with literary location arrows, to the warm feeling upon entry, it’s truly a place that welcomes all readers. Inside, there are a ton of great books; some very recent and some older editions of classic local authors including (but not limited to) Louisa May Alcott, Henry David Thoreau, and Ralph Waldo Emerson. The range of book options also included many children’s books, comic books, and several other genres - all priced reasonably! My favorite aspect of the shop was getting to explore the vintage editions of many stories. It felt like stepping through time seeing the pencil inscriptions on the inside cover and early publishing dates.

They also featured a number of gifts: totes, tea towels, and cards that featured additional literary greats. The shop’s bookmark provides a reminder of the outside entrance. I’m sure there are innumerable treasures to behold within Barrow Book Store, definitely check it out!
