Topping and Company Booksellers of Bath is a massive bookshop that has an incredibly enticing exterior, originally built with Bath Stone for the “Friends Meeting House” in 1818. Books are the clear focus even from the outside, as there are several book covers on display and the massive teal doors reveal a striking library of books for sale. The interior creates a beautiful array of books at all eye levels which are also carefully laid out among the many tables. Each space and alcove is organized, and even with the scale, the space feels inviting from the entrance onward.
Additional Information
In several spaces on the floor were staff recommendations and what they were currently reading on delightfully designed chalkboards. I was blown away by how the shop was able to keep the entire space filled with books or other literary gifts. Even as you walk into the lower floor space, there are books along both walls. The store did have some totes available with their logo, and the cashier assured me that their bookmarks were in the works!
