Where the Sidewalk Ends Bookstore
Experience:
Where the Sidewalk Ends is a beautiful bookshop quite literally where the sidewalk cuts off for a moment from the main street walkway (before returning just past the shop.) You are given two options from the outside steps: Right to the main shop, or left to the kid’s portion. Whichever you choose, you will be met by the smell of wood floors, bookshelves, and of course, books! We went around the holidays and the garland, lights, and general holiday feels were in the air and abundant across the shop’s decor. There were even patrons cozying up by the fire, which continued the positive, cozy atmosphere. The books span several floors, with each providing a new set of genres and fun gifts. At the top, there are middle grade and young adult books - which has a cute treehouse vibe based on the location and large beams.
Favorite Aspect
It’s hard to pick out one particular part of this sprawling shop to choose as the “best.”— However, the immediate joy upon entering the kids’ area across from the main entrance gave us goosebumps. It’s tough to know whether it was the layout, large back windows, massive floor planks, the calming colors, or just the general vibe. Either way, when we went in, we were happy :).
