Experience:

Literati Bookstore is an amazing space that greets you at the corner of S. 4th Ave and E. Washington St in the heart of Ann Arbor. The outside is intriguing with green brick and dropdown typewriter keys lining the top of the display glass windows. Inside, you are jolted into so many clearly marked sections from fiction to cooking, and several staff recommendations provide extensive background to help anyone find a great book. There was a rotating display section that highlighted “Arab American Heritage Month” for April. In addition to books, they have fun merch, artwork, art supplies, and more!

Favorite Aspect:

I loved how different the two floors were in terms of the content and layout. While the first floor is packed with tons of color and texts, the upstairs has an airy feel with a children’s corner and other genres. The staircase included many literary quotes that were worth a stop to enjoy and reflect. Staff at the Literati Bookstore were kind and asked that we “make them look good!” when doing the write-up. We hope we did them the respect they very much deserve - check it out!
