Hummingbird Books has a somewhat mysterious entrance hidden behind two large wooden doors. At least during the day it was difficult to know what we were getting into before entering, as the sun hid the contents well behind the window displays. The inside has a cool contrast with a metallic tile ceiling and brick walls covered in dark black bookshelves. I was immediately drawn towards the back left corner of the shop with the massive tree indicating the children’s section. As you get closer, you notice that you can enter the trunk as well!
Additional Information
The staff recommendations were shown via book labels that included a short synopsis. The shop indicated that they normally have bookmarks but were all out at the moment. In addition to books, there were a ton of gifts, toys, cards, puzzles, socks, and various other items to check out! It seemed like a great balance to have a little something for every visitor.
