A Room of One’s Own is an absolutely wonderful, massive, and inclusive bookshop in Madison, Wisconsin. The large beams, bubble lights, and dusted brick provide the opening visual to enter you into the space with collections of books, artwork, pins, stickers, stationary, and plenty more within every nook. Despite the size, the entire bookshop is airy and accessible to get around in. On the way to back space, you are met with friendly and helpful staff who are incredibly knowledgeable of current reads and unique finds.

Favorite Aspect:

We loved the amount of staff recommendations along the way - with comprehensive write-ups to provide sufficient detail about a number of books. There were also references to local authors/illustrators to help support locals within the community friendly indie shop. If you are looking for a specific collection, you are sure to find it here as well! A Place of One’s Own is a must see for all book lovers and bookshop lovers alike! Check it out!
