Wickham & Willoughby

Experience

Wickham & Willoughby is a hidden gem within a beautiful barn in Dunstable. Named for the Jane Austen villains George Wickham (Pride and Prejudice) and John Willoughby (Sense and Sensibility), the shop’s experience is completely refreshing, as you walk into a space that is cozy and calm. Every nook is a treat to unfold, and you’ll spend a good amount of time uncovering all there is to offer. The shop has a great curation of books and a wonderful variety of non-book (but many literary) items! It was fun to chat with the bookshop owner, who gave us the full rundown of how the store came to be and how the local community (especially the young readers) helped grow the business.

Favorites

The upstairs kids/teen/graphic sections were another treat in the loft area above the main floor continuing the relaxing vibes from down below. It felt like a clubhouse where someone of any age could find a cool place to hunker down with a new read. Another thing we appreciated about the shop was how connected everything felt based on the clear design with each of the section titles and surrounding items. We loved Wickham and Willoughby!
