The Silver Unicorn Bookstore is an unexpected find right off the main road in Acton, MA. You’re not really sure what you’ll find behind the door underneath the massive block lettering containing the store’s name. Inside is an absolute treat with color, gifts, and of course: BOOKS! Every part of the store is covered carefully and helps you get immersed in book culture at every turn. All of the artwork encapsulates you in the “silver unicorn” feel and the entire store is like going on an adventure. The mini entrance to the kid’s section brings immediate fun to young readers, helping to build a joy of reading upon arrival. It could also help an older reader feel young again (if they watched their head when going through!)

Recommendations

There were a TON of recommendations - probably more than I’ve ever seen in a book shop up to this point - which was fantastic! Anyone looking for a new read would be met with all sorts of mini write-ups and personalized ideas of what to read. The images that went along with the “Staff Picks” were a great touch to let you know who to seek out for more information about a suggested read.

Additional Information

We were really impressed with the number of ways that the store promoted events as well as monthly causes. It was great to see how ingrained in the community they were, and it felt like there was a niche for every selective or highly adaptable reader who enters. The local crafts and promotion of additional community goods were a great way to have other small businesses involved. This place was wonderful!
