Mr. B’s was an absolutely lovely experience from entry to checkout. You walk into a clean and colorful store that provides a clear visual indication of where different genres exist. It all felt very homey and calm. The children’s section or “The Wood Between the Words” was the most enticing as the colors of the walls and surrounding images bring you in (even if you’re not seeking out a children’s book!) The skylighted section with the “Imaginarium” would be a close second.
Recommendations
Mr. B’s had many opportunities for book recommendations. There were some books that had “Mr. B’s Thoughts…” which gave a short synopsis of several stories. Also, “Mr B’s Booksellers’ Dozen” provided monthly favorites that staff were excited about. Each staff member had a specific place to indicate what they were currently reading, which was a great way to stumble upon something new.
Other Information
This bookshop came as a recommendation from a trusted local and then verified by a very enthusiastic barista nearby who claimed, “Oh, I absolutely love Mr. B’s!” They have a fun bookmark and were kind in offering a couple extras for us. :)
